Gerhard Hofland Gallery presents RATTLE, RATTLE!, the first solo exhibition by Ide André (1990, NL) from October 2 - November 16, 2019.

Opening reception: Saturday 12 October, 17:00 h.

On this occasion Ide André will be awarded the Sieger White Award 2018. This bi-annual prize is awarded by the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund to young talented artists that propel contemporary painting to new levels, and serves to stimulate the artist to further explore and develop their practice.

The publication related to the Sieger White Award, published by Jap Sam Books,  will be released during the opening. Rattle, Rattle! Ide André will be handed over to Ide André by Jan de Ruiter, chairman of the Sieger White Foundation. Following this event, there will be a performance by the artist himself.

On September 20th, the sneak preview of our forthcoming publication A Critical History of Media Art in the Netherlands. Platforms, Policies, Technologies took place at TodaysArt Festival.

The international jury of the Prix de Rome has selected four visual artists for the shortlist of the Prix de Rome 2019. The nominees are: Sander Breure & Witte van Hulzen, Esiri Erheriene-Essi, Femke Herregraven and Rory Pilgrim.

The Prix de Rome is the oldest and most generous Dutch award for visual artists below the age of 40. The purpose of the award is to identify talented visual artists and to encourage them to develop and increase their visibility. The Mondriaan Fund has been responsible for the award from 2012 on. For Prix de Rome 2019 the Mondriaan Fund will collaborate with Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The publication will be published by Jap Sam Books.

Our publication Evidence by artist Jan Dietvorst and Roy Villevoye is selected for the Prix Bob Calle 2019 du livre d'artiste. The publication is co-published by Argos Centre for Art & Media in Brussels, with text contributions by Andrea Cinel and An van. Dienderen. The Prix Bob Calle 2019 will be awarded on Wednesday 13 March at The Beaux-Arts de Paris. All books selected are exhibited from 11 to 29 of March in the library of Beaux-Arts de Paris, on the 1st floor of the Palais des études.

Our publication about the work of Lizan Freijsen, designed by Renate Boere, printed by Graphius Group, and supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie and crowdfunding Voordekunst, was honored by the German Design Council with one of the 50 GOLD German Design Awards, out of 5.400 entries from 63 countries for the Product and Communication Design categories.
