This limited edition publication is part of The weather has been cancelled (TWHBC), an artwork in the form of an interactive-fiction videogame. In the game environment, the player wakes up and discovers that the weather has been ‘cancelled’. Then the quest is revealed: The world needs you. You have to find out who cancelled the weather, and get it back! If you fail to restore the weather by midnight, all life on Earth will begin to perish. Good luck.

Generasi 3.0 – The Stories We Carry explores how younger generations use art to investigate their family history in former Dutch East Indies. With works by Caja Boogers, Sander Coers, Yara Jimmink, Miranda Devita Kistler, Sebastian & Tyler Koudijzer, Ilvy Njiokiktjien, Sekan and Maarten Tromp.

A monolith is defined as a single, large, unified structure. An apt name for the first complete monograph on the work of Dutch painter Robert Zandvliet (b. 1970). This monumental volume reveals the ongoing tension between experimentation and striking consistency in his body of work.

We are back with a beautiful photo series by The Book Photographer, this time on the artist book RAIN, by Jannemarein Renout.

The festive closing event for Activating Common Ground will take place on 22 January 2026, starting at 19.30, at the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam.

The programme includes an interview with architect Jarrik Ouburg on the project and publication Re-Thinking Re-Use. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the programme in the foyer of the Nieuwe Instituut, through NAi Booksellers.
