Pi de Bruijn’s career spans one third of the twentieth century and a quarter of the twenty-first century. This richly illustrated book documents his life and work during a period in which Dutch architecture, cities and society underwent enormous changes. From war to abundance, through good times and bad. On Friday 25 October at Framer Framed in Amsterdam, editors of Unruly Kinships Kris Dittel and Aneta Rotkowska will reflect on the process behind the project and discuss key topics of the book.

Below we share the first two architecture theory launches of 2025, both co-published by Jap Sam Books. These publications are the latest additions to two book series, Footprint 34 Narrating Shared Futures in the Footprint series, and Noetics Without a Mind in the Ecologies of Architecture book series.

Last month, author Raoul Bunschoten presented the first official copy of the new publication Taiwan Strait to professor Wang Shaosen at a reading at the University of Xiamen, China.

Jap Sam Books and TU Delft OPEN Publishing would like to announce the expansion of their partnership to co-publish journals and books. These publications will be digitally published by TU Delft OPEN Publishing with an open license. Jap Sam Books is the publisher of the physical copies of these publications, which will be available to customers through its sales channels worldwide. This partnership started out with the academic journal Footprint and will now be accompanied with the Ecologies of Architecture Book Series, with more to come.

Stitch Your Brain is a long-term study into the intelligence of the hand by artist and former medical doctor Monika Auch. The book reflects the results of the empirical study Auh worked on for the past decade about the importance of creating with your hands in our digital age and the effects of slow creation on neuro cognitive learning, health, and well-being.
