We are excited to announce the nomination for the Prix Bob Calle 2023 of jaune, geel, gelb, yellow. Monochrome by artist Antonis Pittas, designed by Alex Farrar! 

Publisher Eleonoor Jap Sam, and artist Antonis Pittas will attend the prize ceremony on June 8th at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. jaune, geel, gelb, yellow. Monochrome will be exhibited, and Antonis Pittas will sign copies of his publication during this event. Out of the 52 selected artist books that are part of the exhibition, the expert jury nominated 21 publications for the award.

The Prix Bob Calle award has been created to show and celebrate the particular art form that is the artist's book, and to help its recognition and international influence. It proposes to organise various activities of support and dissemination to promote meetings between artists, publishers, gallery owners, booksellers, curators, collectors and amateurs.

Best Dutch Book Designs 2022
In March 2023 jaune, geel, gelb, yellow. Monochrome has been awarded with the title Best Dutch Book Designs 2022 by both the professional and student jury of Best Dutch Book Designs 2022 together with 32 other selected publications. This past March, the nominated publications were on display at the Leipziger Buchmesse, with more exhibitions to come.

The publication jaune, geel, gelb, yellow. Monochrome discusses the failure, collapse and historicization of the modernist ideals espoused by Theo van Doesburg, set against the current political backdrop of mass protest. It reflects on the failing of modernity, with contributions by authors from the field of art history, architecture, philosophy, anthropology, sociology and poetry. With text contributions by Maria Barnas, I.K. Bonset, Laurie Cluitmans, Johan F. Hartle, Dirk van den Heuvel, Bram Ieven, Bruno Latour, Thalia Ostendorf, Bart Rutten, Doris Wintgens.
