The publication I wish there was color, I wish there was sound (concept & editing by Andrea Stultiens with Annika Felder) was released on May 30st at Nederlands Fotomuseum, where the eponymous exhibition opened on May 31st and will run through September 15th, 2024.

Thursday May 23rd Arja Hop & Peter Svenson presented their latest publication, titled Felwa at Huis Marseille. In this book, Hop & Svenson explore an essential paradox of nature, in the context of the Veluwe region in the Netherlands, namely that change is the only constant. After director of Huis Marseille Nanda van den Berg welcomed everyone, writer Lucette ter Borg and botanical philosopher Norbert Peeters   – who also wrote a text for the book – spoke about the book. The first copy of the book was presented to graphic designer Edwin van Gelder by Arja & Peter.

Last Sunday June 2nd artist book Ivory Black, Deep Orange Yellow by Carla Klein was launched at KM21 in The Hague. The afternoon was held in the exhibition room where Klein's first solo museum exhibition in the Netherlands Close Distance took place the past few months. One of the authors of the book, Gerrit Willems engaged in a conversation with Carla Klein about her work and practice. 

Last month, author Raoul Bunschoten presented the first official copy of the new publication Taiwan Strait to professor Wang Shaosen at a reading at the University of Xiamen, China.

Tomorrow, June 11th the new publication by Babs Haenen will be released in Basel! We are looking forward to this event during Design Miami and Art Basel, organized by Archivorum ic/w Jap Sam Books.

Jap Sam Books and Monika Auch are pleased to invite you to the TOLHUIS in Amsterdam on February 4th for the launch of Stitch Your Brain. A unique hybrid project at the intersection of art and science by artist Monika Auch, with a stunning design by Studio Joost Grootens.

December 14th we had a jam packed launch of The File on D. / Dossier D. by Arianne Olthaar in The Hague. This fold-out book of photographs of hotel interiors in the former Eastern Bloc by visual artist Arianne Olthaar, challenges the imagination to create its own space and story while wandering through the cinematic empty spaces. Dutch writer Arnon Grunberg, inspired by the photographs, wrote a short story for the book. Book design by Studio Janneke Hendriks.

Mid-November we had a wonderful intimate launch of the new publication by Rob Perrée, available in a Dutch and English edition: A Black Collage / Een zwarte collage. This special, festive book launch took place at Kunsthal KAdE with an inspiring lecture by essayist Stephan Sanders and a musical contribution by singer Luyi and ud player Nawras Altaky, and a welcome word by publisher/editor Eleonoor Jap Sam and KAdE director Robbert Roos.
