Book presentations 'As One. Wanderings. Lex ter Braak' 25 January & 12 February
In light of the launch of As One. Wanderings by Lex ter Braak we would like to invite you to two upcoming book presentations. The first event takes place on 25 January at Buitenplaats Kasteel Wijlre, the second event on 12 February at AkzoNobel Art Space in Amsterdam.
About As One. Wanderings
The inspiration for this monograph by visual artist Lex ter Braak (b. 1950) came from a chest of drawers in his studio in Haarlem. The chest contains a collection of works, including Polaroids, drawings, paintings, works on paper, textile pieces, and fragments that have been torn or shredded, all waiting for the moment when a drawer is opened.
In As One. Wanderings, these Drawing Pieces, together with other highlights of his oeuvre, are compiled into a publication. Ter Braak weaves together a tapestry of fragments, creating a fabric of interconnected life forms. He states that nothing in the world exists in isolation; everything is interconnected, regardless of how much we attempt to organise reality through division, distinction, and systematisation. This organisation is a human construct that obscures the natural web of connections from our perception and understanding.
25 January - book presentation + Art Walk & Talk
The program starts at 12PM with a Art Walk & Talk led by Xander Karskens, taking you through current exhibitions including Lex ter Braak's recent work currently on view in Kamer Eyck (until 1 March 2026). After a short break Xanders Karskens will talk with Lex ter Braak about their work and the origin of As One. Wanderings.
