Crowdfunding upcoming publication 'Dreaming of Dreams' by Maurice Bogaert

After the release of Maurice Bogaert's first artist book, The Walter Benjamin and Albert S. Project 5 years ago, we are excited to announce he is working on a new publication!

Dreaming of Dreams brings together found footage, archival material, and self-produced material in a staging where ficiton, non-fiction and auto-fiction tumble over each other. An archive of images and text where the reader follows the montage while watching and reading, or creates their own montage while browsing.
Through text and images, the story of Dreaming of Dreams describes a world that lies between sleeping and waking. Dreaming of Dreams is a work about dreams, not about the symbolic stide of dreaming, but about dreaming as a political act.
Tree stories, of three people form the starting point, or, more precisely, the three perspectives from which the story is told; That of the Jewish German journalist Charlotte Beradt, who fled to New York, the Syrian station master Nazem Hussein and that of the (fictional) character Tillman, who -like the artist- grew up in a former mining town in Limburg, the Netherlands.
Like the award winning artist book The Walter Benjamin and Albert S. Project, Bogaert will be working with designer Edwin van Gelder (Mainstudio) to create the book design as the story develops and the world of Dreaming of Dreams materializes, resulting in a meaningful book design that embodies its content.
To support this project you can donate through Maurice Bogaert's Voordekunst campaign >>>

This publication will be written in English, book design by Mainstudio (Edwin van Gelder).
