Frankfurt Book Fair October, 12-16
From 12 to 16 October JAP SAM Books will attend the Franfurter Buchmesse. You can find our booth in hall 4.1, N548. This year we will present our latest and forthcoming titles 2011/2012,, and backlist 2010. You are welcome to visit our stand.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is a meeting place for the industry's experts. Be they publishers, booksellers, agents, film producers or authors - each year in October, they all come together and create something new. The Frankfurt Book Fair is the most important marketplace for books, media, rights and licences worldwide. More than 7,300 exhibitors from 100 countries, 299,000 visitors and over 10,000 journalists.
This year Iceland is the Guest of Honour, the theme is Fabulous Iceland. This Fall we will release a beautiful artist book by artist Elodie Hiryczuk and Sjoerd van Oevelen. Hiryczuk/Van Oevelen - Landfall is a publication based on the temporary art project Landfall in the public space of Amsterdam Zuidas. The artitst conceived the idea of bringing the youngest island in the world – Surtsey off the coast of Iceland – to Zuidas Amsterdam by means of large panoramic photographs. The two land masses are comparable in size, but apart from that, totally different. Surtsey is a spontaneous impulse of nature, accessible only for research. Zuidas is a former marshland changed by human intervention into a business district on the most expensive dirt in the Netherlands.
