Mark Pimlott is the author of Without and Within: Essays on Territory and the Interior as well as In Passing and has worked extensively on issues regarding the American landscape.
Without and Within looks at the territorializing of the American west and the tactics of surveying and controlling space while tracing this legacy to contemporary typologies such as tract housing, the shopping mall, and the museum.
His most recent book, In Passing captures these ideas and impressions in collections of photographs of landscapes and built environments taken throughout his life.
McNally Jackson will be hosting an intimate discussion where he will be discussing his work as a writer, photographer, and architect; he will also be signing copies.
