Booklaunch and lecture November 23, 2010: Architecture as Landscape Intervention. Work by Drost + Van Veen Architects

On Tuesday November 23, 2010 from 16.00 til 18.30 hrs the new publication Architecture as Landscape Intervention will be launched with a lecture by architecture critic Ruud Brouwers at the Podium voor Architectuur in Nieuw-Vennep.

The Office for Architecture Drost + van Veen in Rotterdam looks at landscape as their primary source of inspiration for their designs. These designs either strongly merge into the context of their landscape or really stand out like a beacon. Next to this conceptual approach, materialization is quite an important aspect of the working method for these two architects, whom both were originally educated as interior designers. Their bridges at business park 'De President' in the South of International Airport Schiphol won the Architecture Prize Haarlemmermeer 2009.
