After a busy period at the office with many new publications we will soon slow down to enjoy the summer days and work behind the scenes on upcoming book launches and fairs. In this post you can find a sneak peek of our plans!

We are excited to announce the nomination the Prix Bob Calle 2023 of jaune, geel, gelb, yellow. Monochrome by artist Antonis Pittas, designed by Alex Farrar! Publisher Eleonoor Jap Sam, and artist Antonis Pittas will attend the prize ceremony on June 8th in Paris. This award has been created to show and celebrate the particular art form that is the artist's book, and to help its recognition and international influence.

Lesia Topolnyk received the prize on December 1st from Gunay Uslu, the state secretary for Media and Culture, at The New Institute. 

The nominees for the Black Achievement Awards 2022 have been announced! The Black Achievement Awards Ceremony took place on October 31st in the DeLaMar Theatre in Amsterdam.

Eleonoor Jap Sam, founder and editor of Jap Sam Books has been nominated in the entrepreneurship category. 

VPRO Tegenlicht made a documentary about Marjan van Aubels mission towards a bright future, showing all the unused possibilties of the sun.

Jap Sam Book's latest catalogue is out as of now! This years edition is seriously packed, with many new and forthcoming titles. The beautiful design is once again made by Montse Hernàndez i Sala. 

Coming sunday the Books Are Bridges Art Books Fest takes place at the Clubhouse of SNV in Rotterdam. Our representative Jesse Presse will showcase a selection of new publications by Jap Sam Books at their table. Come say hi!

Amsterdam, 31 May 2022 - Visual artist Remy Jungerman receives the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art 2022, the biggest visual art prize in the Netherlands. The jury praises the artist for the way he interweaves the cultures of the countries that define him, Suriname, the Netherlands, and the United States.
